On the 21st, the presidential office’s demand for the resignation of Han Dong-hoon, chairman of the People's Power Emergency Management Committee, was revealed. The presidential office stated that Han “violated the system's nomination principle.” However, the main reason was the discordance between Han and the administration of President Yoon over the suspicion of Kim Gun-hee’s bribery. As Han refused to resign, saying, "I will do my job, what I’ve begun for the citizens," the ruling party faced a critical conflict two months before the April 10 general election.

Last month, Han strongly insisted that Kim Gun-hee's alleged acceptance of a luxury bag was a "hidden camera maneuver." Nonetheless, he changed his position on the 19th by stating, "There were some regrets and concerns in the process. This is a matter to think from the perspective of the citizens." On the same day, the president's office maintained its previous stance, asserting, "The essence of the incident was that there was a planned setup to corner Kim Gun Hee purposely.”

Later, President Yoon Suk Yeol and Han gathered in one place on the 23rd due to a fire at a market in Seocheon, South Chungcheong Province. However, contrary to public opinion's prediction that their relationship would deteriorate, Han bowed to President Yoon, who shook his hands intimately. Asked by a reporter whether their conflict would be resolved, Han said, "My deep respect and trust for President Yoon Suk Yeol has not changed at all." Lee Jae-Myung criticized President Yoon and Han, arguing that "nothing could be an excuse for staging a political show in front of the heartbroken victims."
