Two men in Ulsan who had sex with a 13-year-old minor were sentenced to probation from prison for purchasing cigarettes for her. They saw a post written by C(13) on social media saying, ‘Looking for someone who will purchase cigarettes for me’ and approached C by sending a direct message saying, "I will buy you cigarettes".

First, in October last year, A provided 10 packs of cigarettes worth 45,000 won in exchange for prostitution and had sex with C at a motel in Ulsan. A week later in the same month, B provided four packs of cigarettes worth 18,000 won, met C in front of an elementary school in Ulsan, and moved to a nearby building for sex.

According to the legal community on the 17th, the Ulsan District Court's Criminal Department 12 (Director Kim Jong-hyung) ordered both men A and B, on charges of rape of a minor, purchase of prostitution under the Youth Protection Act, and violation of the Youth Protection Act, to one and a half years in prison, two years of suspension, and 40 hours of sexual violence treatment lectures.
